Facebook's smear campaign against Google both ridiculous and hypocritical

May 13, 2011 - 2:31pm

Facebook and privacy are two things that don't really go together. Security holes have been found in the social networking site many times in the past, which should humble most people and make them hesitant to start accusing others of the very same issues. This, however, is not the case.

Microsoft's antitrust complaint against Google a bizarre role reversal

April 6, 2011 - 5:53pm

It’s nearly impossible to think of Google as anything other than a force of good. IBM's Watson an unsettling technological wonder

February 16, 2011 - 1:20pm

It seems that the good people of IBM really do want machines to take over the Earth. Watson, an artificial intelligence developed by IBM, has proven its worth by, as of the time of this writing, competing twice on Jeopardy! against former champions Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.

If you’ve purchased a smartphone over the past few months, then congratulations: you’ve just helped push smartphones into a more prominent place than PCs for the first time ever.

Clinging to obsolescence: why do we still bother with fax machines?

February 2, 2011 - 1:10pm

As science advances, so does our technology, making older products obsolete. While a shovel was a technological marvel at one point, you’d never see one used to dig a well when you had access to the appropriate and much more efficient machinery.
