April 4, 2011 - 10:43pm

Dalhousie Medical School's plan to sell seats for exorbitant amounts of money to Saudi Arabia is once again illustrating the sorry state of postsecondary education in Canada.

Don’t put off procrastinating

April 4, 2011 - 10:42pm

The stench of stress and fear are in the air as final exams approach and I have just the remedy for your pre-exam blues: procrastination.

Hastman’s irrelevant campaign

April 4, 2011 - 10:40pm

Canada lacks leadership in Libya

March 30, 2011 - 10:56pm

With both our attention and the media's focused squarely on the campaign trail for the federal election, it's easy to forget that there's a significant battle going on for control of Libya, a battle with humanitarian consequences that Canada is now involved in.

The never-ending advantages of being an asshole

March 30, 2011 - 10:54pm

People nowadays are too damn nice. It's like Louis Armstrong's "It's a Wonderful World" has come to life. "I see friends shaking hands, saying, 'How do you do?' They're really saying, 'I love you.' " It makes me want to puke.

Straight male gamers aren't really facing horrible discrimination

March 30, 2011 - 10:52pm

We just made it through the labyrinthine Students' Union elections. For the majority of you, it was a grueling month of ignoring the posters, hoping that it would eventually make them go away — and now we're expected to pay attention to another federal election.

Proud art of prank calling still worth mastering

March 28, 2011 - 10:27pm

These days, with the invention of caller ID and text messaging, it seems that prank calls have more or less fallen by the wayside. But I'm not ready to surrender this classic joke just yet; too many hours in my life have been spent trying to decide who to call and which prank to pull.

Taking part in Earth Hour won't save the world

March 26, 2011 - 2:09pm

Most people should be able to agree with me that the Earth is a pretty awesome place. It’s the only home we’ve ever known. It’s where we find the oceans and the mountains, the forests and caverns, and the only life we’ve yet to discover in the universe. It’s a shame that we only devote one hour per year to collectively pay attention to it.
